Getting Started Essential Tools & Resources

Website Hosting

If you want to get a website up and running you need somewhere to host. There are many excellent website hosting companies that offer great deals for a new website. Not only that they now make setting up a site very easy with the one-click automatic WordPress Blog installation. I have tried many different option with various sites over the years but this site is with Justhost who I have been very happy with.

Customer service has been excellent and my site has been stable and running smoothly which is exactly what you need from your hosting company.

Wordpress Theme

In choosing a platform to build your website I strongly urge you to use WordPress as in my opinion it is the best in terms of usability and flexibilty and the most search engine friendly. When you install wordpress you then need a theme to give your style a design and structure. There are many excellent free options available to start but to give your website the edge I would recommend paying for one. There are lots of companies to choose from but my preferred source has become Envato themes. Their designs look amazing and they are really clean and easy to use which is a real time saver in the long run. If you wondering what the prices are most themes range between $20-$69 which is a small investment for the impact and wow factor it will bring to your site.

Lead Capture

When you start getting visitors to your site one of the first things you should think about is trying to build an email list of subscribers. To achieve this one of the easiest and effective ways to get started is adding lead capture forms to your site. Optinmonster offer a great set of tools and templates to get you started no matter what your niche or market.

Email Marketing

When you are ready to start capturing your leads from your website you need a platform where you can build your list and start emailing your new subscribers. Again there are many options to explore but when getting started and your needs in terms of list management are pretty basic Aweber are a good choice. They offer platform that is easy to use with a very secure and stable service, backed up by good customer support.
